Release of the Nym WebAssembly Client update

The Nym WebAssembly client allows easy and direct integration of applications into the Nym mixnet. It has recently been updated to version 1.0.0.

Any application that works from a browser window can use this client to send data through the Nym mixnet to benefit from the network layer privacy protections it offers. This also includes client-side apps that use Electron, React Native, or Tauri frameworks (basically anything that can execute WebAssembly).

If you are a JavaScript or TypeScript developer and would like to give things a try and see how it works, have a look at our WebAssembly client docs.

As an example, here is a basic chat webapp. Texts are sent through the Nym mixnet and to the receiving party. Try running it between yourself and a friend or in two browsers!

Currently the client is not doing packet retransmission for reliability, so it is possible that packets get lost. We are working on retransmission over the next few weeks. The next release will be a drop-in upgrade and feature improved reliability. You can experiment with the current version and upgrade when the next version comes out.

We look forward to seeing what kind of apps people will use this client for and build with.
